James D. Warren & Son, Inc. is a family owned and operated mechanical contracting firm who concentrates on service and repair work for all types of plumbing, heating and cooling systems. We have served the Capital District continually since 1906. Alan D. Grossman, owner and president, was an employee for twelve years before purchasing the company from Jim Warren in 1985. The name of the firm has remained to honor the tradition of quality craftsmanship and customer service built by Jim and his father, James D. Warren.
The business has continued to thrive by keeping customer service and quality work our top priority. We perform work in the commercial and residential markets. Our customers include homeowners, landlords, businesses, nonprofit organizations, churches, schools, and government agencies. The work performed includes plumbing, heating, air conditioning, commercial refrigeration, and temperature control.
Our employees are of the highest caliber. All have gone through the United Association apprentice training program. The five year program provides a solid foundation for a well rounded service technician. All technicians are trained regularly through in house trainings, manufacturer's classes, and journeyman training from the United Association. All our technicians are EPA certified to work with refrigerants in a safe manner. Technicians are also encouraged to attain the UA's highest level of certification, the UA STAR. Some are dual certified in HVACR and Plumbing.
We are a licensed plumbing, heating and cooling contractor with The City of Albany. We have two licensed Master Plumbers. We carry liability insurance as well as worker's compensation. Memberships in trade associations such as MSCA- Mechanical Service Contractors Association and the NAPHCC- National Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors help us to keep abreast of the changes in this industry.
